My concern centres around the fact that my oldest sometimes likes to make mistakes on purpose - he finds it amusing. I definitely don't want to make him feel bad about mistakes and I do want him to try and challenge himself to the point that mistakes are inevitable, but I don't want to encourage the mistakes on purpose paradigm either. <br /><br />I do like the emphasis to not let mistakes stop you but to see them as part of learning, an integral part. I know in my own learning history I would tend to give up when mistakes start happening, I wanted to get it right the first or second time, or I'd assume I'm not good at the subject.
