About

Hi, I'm Nelleke.

I'm a Christian, a wife, and a mother of 6 boys aged 16, 14, 12, 10, 5 and 1. We live on Prince Edward Island. You will probably recognize my title..."Education is a life" was borrowed from Charlotte Mason. It refers, of course, to the idea that children, as persons, are not to be stuffed full of facts, but nourished with a rich variety of living ideas. It is my aim that this will characterize not only my homeschool, but also my own life. This blog is intended in part to be a reflection of my own journey of continual learning and thinking. It is also intended as a record for my own joy in remembering in future years. I will consider it a blessing if it encourages or inspires you, as well!

Prince Edward Island!? How romantic! (I bet you get that a lot..) I've always wanted to visit there. (Bet you get that a lot, too.)

I found your blog through Afterthoughts and I love it! You have a new follower. :)

Thanks, Catie! Like most people, we get used to where we live and often don't make much of an effort to appreciate the tourist attractions here. We know lots of good spots in nature where the tourists never go, though. :) And of course we love Anne of Green Gables.
We took the kid to Prince Edward Island when they were younger. We did a unit study on Anne of Green Gables. We live in BC so it was quite a trip! We love it. What a lovely place to live!

Yes, it is. I think BC has some attractions too...I believe your Spring comes a lot sooner than ours. :) Thanks for commenting!
